Simply Etiquette Made Simply....
How soon before an event do I need send out the invitations?
The type of event for which you are sending out invitations is important.
Is the event formal/informal? Are your guests in town/out of town? Do your guest
need to make child care arrangements?
If your event is formal with intown and out of town guest you should give them atleast three months notice with a save the date card. Then send out the formal invitation four to six weeks in advance.

If your event is casual with intown guest two weeks should be plenty.
The best rule of thumb is how much notice would you appreciate??
