Hi All,
Well since the last blog have been to gift market in Dallas.
I picked up two new lines and added some great new items
from Three Designing Women.

While taking a short break the other night I was flipping through
the February issue of "Instyle" magazine and what do I see but one
of my products.
It was listed in "What we Love". The deputy editor of "Instyle" said
"Three Designing Women is my all-time favorite for pretty address stamps and gorgeous
monogram embossers."
Well I think Donna Bulseco said it all.
If you don't have a Three Designing Womens stamper you really
should try one or two they are addicting.
You can have one for every occasion.

It has been a good while since my last posting.
As scarey as it is Christmas is right around the corner.
With that in mind,
I would like to tell you about a wonderful product
that I have enjoyed having on my site.
I must admit that I only put things on my site
that I would use or like to have.
Anyway, the Three Designing Women stamps are really great.
They have come out with some really fabulous holiday designs.

Simply Etiquette Made Simply....
How soon before an event do I need send out the invitations?
The type of event for which you are sending out invitations is important.
Is the event formal/informal? Are your guests in town/out of town? Do your guest
need to make child care arrangements?
If your event is formal with intown and out of town guest you should give them atleast three months notice with a save the date card. Then send out the formal invitation four to six weeks in advance.

If your event is casual with intown guest two weeks should be plenty.
The best rule of thumb is how much notice would you appreciate??

Hope this answers any questions you might have about time frame for sending out invitations.

Well we are well into the New Year!
Has everyone recovered from the Holidays?
Have you written all your Thank You Notes? If not here are
a few tips on writting Thank You Notes.
There are two important things to strive for when writting thank you notes, they are sincerity and promptness. Unless it is after a very large event, a wedding, a note arriving more than a week after the holiday or event loses its fizz. But is better to send a thank you late than none at all. You will also want to use expressions that come naturally. Write your thank you's as if you were talking with the person.

Hi everyone,
Did everyone remember to set their clocks back an hour last night???
I did but a good friend called us this morning asking if we were going to church
this morning, thinking we should be on our way, I quickly informed her that she had
another hour to wait. She was very relieved since she thought we all would be late.

Even though it is not quite Halloween yet people are already starting their Christmas shopping.
I am not sure I am ready for Christmas yet. But here we go anyway. I have had several customers
ordering for Christmas already. Good for you all!!! All the stationery on my site has a pretty quick turn around. The cups on the other hand take a little bit longer. They take 10 business days to print and then shipping takes 3-5 business days. So if you are thinking about cups for Christmas gifts you do need to think about ordering early.
Cups make great gifts and hostess gifts. They come in sleeves of 25. You can order say 250 cups with your last name ie..The Butlers, then give them to all your relatives with the same last name. Great gift that gives to you also. Or order the HO! HO! HO! cups (or any other cleaver saying you like) and give them as teacher gifts or family gifts or co workers really everyone loves them.

OK to the etiquette part of the blog....
Since you really should be thinking about your Christmas cards or Holiday letters here is hopefully some usefull information.
Holiday cards and letters are offten used to share family news. Announcing an event as important as a birth is perfectly appropriate, as are breif notes or special thoughts to people whom you have not seen for a long time. Then there is the printed history of the past year-the holiday newsletter.
Holiday newsletters are fine in themselves, but many people really do not care if the baby now has 3 teeth or Johnny is the best player on his T-ball team. Knowing that enlcose newletters only in cards to those you think will be interested. The Emily Post Institute did a survey and found that 53% liked newsletters and 47% did not like newsletters.
The newsletter can keep those on your list up to date on your life, but only share news that is positive and not too personal. Keep your letter to one page or less and write a personal message that is one or two sentences in the card that accompanies the letter.
Hope this puts you in the mood to start thinking about your Christmas cards.

Hi everyone,
Hope you all are having a wonderful fall.
I just came home from a wonderful girls trip to
Lake City, Colorado. Most of the color was already
gone, however the snow capped mountains were
spectacular. Take a look at the pictures. What a great group
of girls and what a view!
OK to the business part of the blog...your etiquette tip.
Signatures on Greeting Cards
When signatures are printed, there is no longer a rule for married couples about whose name goes first. However, the last name is always used. Christopher and Olivia Andrews makes sense because it follows the conventional "Mr and Mrs" form. When the signature is handwritten, the wife's name traditionally precedes the husband's,but, as with the printed signatures, it is your call.

This is becoming something that I look forward to doing...
When I thought about doing a blog I thought that I would give different
etiquette tips.
If you have any questions please let me know and I will try and answer them.
You might think that writing letters or cards have gone out of style with the evolution of the email.
However, small handwritten notes,meant for everything from offering condolences and thanking someone are more popular than ever.
Another thing that has not gone out of style for correspondents is correct form and style. By structuring a letter or a note in a traditional way, you stand a better chance of getting the reaction or the results you would like.
Even if you decide to use email you can benefit from the adoption of a few timeless standards and practices.
There are three types of letters that are better left unwritten...
~The woe-is-me letter
~The tell all letter
~The angry letter
Think twice about writing anything that could come back to haunt you.

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the first Blog for www.acutesite.com
As you can read in my profile I have had this site for
about 8 years. It has evolved and changed along with me.
I am planning to answer different etiquette problems or questions.
If you have any questions please email me and I will add them to
my blog.
I do want to share something that I think is really cool.
About 3 years ago a friend and her family came to visit my
husband and me, while we were talking she mentioned that she and
her sister were writting a book. The premise of the book was that
they bought a piece of furniture and in that furniture they found a journal.
Their book is the journal that they found. Well Joyce asked if I would give
her a business card that she could include in the journal. I of course did.
Well a couple of weeks ago I recieved a copy of their book and about half
way through the book what do I see but my business card.
How cool is that???
